It is not a kit, but an accessory — a sheet of transfer markings that are applied to the model with water. The designation AS refers to the version with an engine fitted with a more powerful supercharger for operating at greater altitudes.
With an ordinary decal, the carrier film is left on the surface of the model as well, and in certain lighting it shows as a glossy outline around the marking. A wet transfer carries only the printed layer itself onto the model, so the marking looks as though it had been sprayed straight onto the skin. During application the position can also still be adjusted, which makes accurate placing easier on thin markings.
Intended for modelers who are bothered by the visible carrier film of classic decals and want to achieve the impression of painted markings on a model. The work is somewhat slower than with decals and calls for patience while they dry, but the result tends to be markedly cleaner and stands up better both to a close look and to macro photography.
The set holds markings only. A kit, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
