The Mi-2 is a light twin-engine helicopter whose series production took place in Poland. It is powered by two turboshaft engines mounted above the cabin, which made it considerably more powerful than its piston-engined predecessors while it stayed small and undemanding to operate. It was used to carry people and cargo, for training, in ambulance and agricultural service and also with armed and police forces. It is police service that the name of the item refers to, and in the words of three languages.
A plastic model of the helicopter in 1:48 scale to be assembled and painted. The number of parts, the choice of markings and the recommended shades are given by the manufacturer in the instructions.
The cabin is extensively glazed and can be seen into from both sides, so it pays to linger over the interior and finish it before you close the fuselage. Glue the clear parts with a cement intended for glazing, as cyanoacrylate glue will fog them. Police machines wear richly colored finishes with bold stripes and lettering, so it pays to work carefully with masking and to lay gloss varnish over the area under the decals beforehand. Fit the main rotor last so that it does not get in your way, and before the glue sets check that the blades lie in the same plane; a drooping rotor is visible on a finished model at first glance.
Paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
