Photo-etched metal parts for detailing a 1:48 model of the MiG-15 jet fighter. An accessory for the build; the model itself is not included.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-15 is a first-generation jet fighter developed in the Soviet Union at the end of the 1940s. It has a swept wing, a barrel-shaped fuselage with the air intake in the nose and a high-set tailplane. It was built in large numbers, flew with a number of air forces including the Czechoslovak one, and over Korea it met Western jets for the first time. For the modeler it is a subject with clean shapes, where every added detail in the cockpit and on the surface stands out.
The set consists of photo-etched metal parts for a 1:48 model of the MiG-15. The etched sheet is thin and makes it possible to render features that cannot be molded in plastic: belts, levers, placards, grilles and fine flat detail. Which parts the set carries and where they belong on the model is given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a firm surface, not with cutters, which crush the sheet. Make the folds along the scored line, ideally in a bending tool, otherwise between the jaws of tweezers. Glue with a minimal amount of cyanoacrylate; any excess dries into a white haze. Degrease the metal before painting and cover it with a primer for metal, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
The kit, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
