1:1200 USS New Jersey, Model Set is a plastic kit of the American Iowa class battleship in 1:1200 scale from the Revell Model Set line.

The Iowa class battleships are a constant among modelers, and 1:1200 scale turns one of them into a build of an evening or two that takes up a minimum of space. The package comes from the Revell Model Set line, that is from a range conceived as a complete starter set; besides the kit itself it usually holds the basic equipment needed to finish it, and the list is given on the box.
USS New Jersey was the second ship of the American Iowa class, the fast battleships with a main armament of 16 inch guns in three gun turrets. They were created to escort the fast carrier groups and, unlike most of their contemporaries, they had an unusually long career: besides the Second World War they took part in later conflicts, and in the 1980s they were modernized, after which they also carried guided missiles. New Jersey serves as a museum ship today.
Expect small parts and work over a mat that nothing can roll off. A well proven approach is to spray the hull and the decks separately and only then glue on the superstructure and the guns. The shades of gray on American ships varied with the period and the scheme, so follow the illustration on the box. A gentle accent in a darker color where surfaces meet will give the model depth even without photo-etched extras.
