A sheet of waterslide decals for a plastic kit, not a model of the aircraft. The set is focused on one particular Hungarian Air Force MiG-21MF with the fuselage number 9309 and with the squadron emblem Dongo. Single-aircraft sheets like this are exactly why decals are bought separately: a model then carries the documented markings of one particular machine instead of a general scheme from the box.
The MiG-21MF was a single-seat supersonic fighter with a delta wing and one turbojet engine, one of the most widespread versions of the whole line. Compared with the earlier variants it received a more powerful engine and extended armament with a built-in cannon. The Hungarian Air Force operated this version for a number of years and individual machines differed in fuselage numbers and in the squadron insignia that were added on the fuselage.
Apply them onto smooth gloss varnish, because on a matte finish a silvery edge stays around the motif. Cut the motif out closely, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest on a paper towel until it starts to slide freely on the backing. Slide it into place, soak the water up and smooth it with a cotton bud. On engraved lines a softener helps. Once it has dried perfectly, spray the model with varnish at the degree of gloss you want.
