Eduard 1:48 Mikoyan MiG-21SMT is an injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet jet fighter in the Weekend edition with decals for several options.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit represents the Soviet MiG-21SMT jet fighter in 1:48 scale. It is an injection-molded plastic model from Eduard in the Weekend edition, that is, in a simplified package focused on the plastic parts themselves and decals for several marking options, without photo-etched parts and masks. It is a straightforward route to a popular aircraft and a build that fits into a weekend.
The MiG-21 was the most widespread fighter of the Cold War period and one of the most successful Soviet combat aircraft of all. The SMT version was marked by a markedly enlarged dorsal spine with greater reserves of fuel and equipment, which changed the characteristic silhouette of the airframe. The aircraft served with a number of air forces all over the world.
Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic. Finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage up. The aircraft shows to advantage in Soviet camouflage or in natural metal; lay the transitions on with an airbrush and bring out the panel lines with a fine wash. The Weekend edition goes well with separate photo-etched parts and masks if you want to enrich the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
