A set of fabric (microfiber) seat belts in 1:48 scale for models of the P-38 Lightning fighter from the HGW brand. It is not a kit but a detail accessory for the cockpit. The belts are laser-cut from real cloth and supplemented by photo-etched metal buckles.
Once glued in, fabric belts look far more natural than plastic or purely photo-etched parts — the cloth can be shaped, folded and left to drape freely over the seat. The result is a faithful, three-dimensional look to the interior, which shows at once in an open cockpit.
Remove the parts carefully, bend the buckles to the pattern and shape the belts to the seat. Bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or with thin PVA glue. The cloth can be gently toned and weathered for the look of used equipment.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
