P-39 Airacobra exhausts 1:48 (CMK)

This is not a kit but an accessory. The set contains precisely cast resin exhaust stacks (the version with three double stacks) and is intended for models of the Bell P-39 Airacobra fighter in 1:48 scale.

The real subject

The P-39 Airacobra was an American fighter with an unusual layout, the engine behind the pilot and a drive shaft running under the cockpit. It was used on a large scale by the Soviet Air Force. The short exhaust stacks along the sides of the fuselage are among its marked features.

Building and painting tips

Wash the mold release agent off the resin exhausts, cut off the casting blocks and sand them with your airways protected. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. A realistic look comes from a dark base and layers of rusty and metallic shades, and pigments where wanted.
