An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Italeri. The model makes it possible to build the American Curtiss P-40 fighter in the E and K versions, known among the Allies as the Kittyhawk. The package contains plastic parts and a decal sheet for several color variants; paints and glue are not part of it.
The Curtiss P-40 was among the most widespread American fighters of the Second World War and fought on practically every front, from North Africa through the Pacific to China. The P-40E and P-40K versions were heavily armed with machine guns in the wings and became famous among others with Commonwealth units and American pilots. Characteristic are the long V12 engine and the robust airframe.
Glue the parts with a thin cement for plastic; with this mold reckon with more careful sanding of the seams and with filling where needed. Apply a primer before painting and spray the shades with an airbrush. The typical desert and camouflage schemes will stand out once the panel lines are accented and a light patina applied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
