The set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard from the BRASSIN line holds a resin replica of the Martin-Baker ejection seat for a model of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an improving accessory that will replace the plastic seat with a detailed resin casting filled out with photo-etched parts, above all the seat belts and the handles.
The Grumman F-14A Tomcat was an American two-seat carrier-based fighter aircraft with a variable-sweep wing. The crew sat on Martin-Baker ejection seats of the GRU-7A class, which allowed the machine to be left in an emergency across a wide range of speeds and altitudes. The Tomcat served mainly as the air superiority fighter of the US Navy.
Wash the castings clean of the remains of the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Paint the seat with a dark base, bring the belts and the handles out with contrasting shades and fill them out with a fine patina for a faithful look of service.
This is a supplementary resin set, not a complete model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
