The real subject

The Panzerjäger Bren 731(e) came about by rebuilding a captured British Bren Carrier tracked carrier, onto which the Germans mounted an anti-tank gun. The letter in brackets in the German designation stated where the captured vehicle came from. Vehicles of this kind were used mainly by second-line and training units and today they are a rewarding subject: an ordinary carrier in an unusual role and with unusual armament.

Building and painting tips

• First offer the parts up dry and compare them with the instructions, and only then glue.
• Cut the excess material and the traces of production off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully.
• If the set replaces some parts of the kit, cut the plastic part away and level the area.
• What the parts are glued with and in what order they are assembled is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
• Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, let them dry and give them a base coat.
