The Hauler Pz.Beob.Wg. IV Ausf. J 1:48 resin set serves to build the artillery observation vehicle derived from the Panzer IV tank. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin castings from the Czech maker Hauler in 1:48 scale. It makes it possible to build a Panzerbeobachtungswagen IV from the Tamiya plastic kit, that is, an artillery observation vehicle derived from the Panzer IV tank in the Ausf. J version. The package is not a kit and the vehicle cannot be built from it without a base plastic model.
Observation vehicles came about at the end of the war by modifying ordinary tank hulls. They served forward artillery observers, who directed the fire of batteries from them, and they therefore carried radio and observation equipment beyond the norm at the cost of some of the ammunition and combat items. The Ausf. J version was the late, production-simplified form of the Panzer IV.
First wash the resin castings in warm water with detergent and let them dry out thoroughly. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw rather than nippers, or fine edges risk being chipped off. Sanding resin dry is not recommended; work wet and with protection for your airways. Use super glue for gluing, with a fine filler if needed to level the seams. Apply a primer before painting and only then build up the shades; on late German vehicles modulating the base tone and discreet dust effects with pigments work well.
This is an accessory for a build, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
