This set from the Czech maker HGW holds realistic pilot seat belts in the form of the British QS type harness in its later shape, for models of Royal Air Force fighters in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model, but an aftermarket cockpit accessory. The belts are laser-cut from printed microtextile and come with photo-etched metal buckles matching the British quick-release system.
The material behaves like real cloth, drapes well and holds its shape. The metal buckles were developed together with Eduard. The belts are fully workable and can be seated fastened or undone. The textile stands up to the usual mild modeling products and takes filters and oils for bringing the texture out.
Take the cut part off the sheet, peel the backing paper away and work the belt between your fingers. Thread the ends through the buckles and fix them with spots of super glue. Once seated, pick the detail out gently with a heavily thinned oil paint.
The accessory is supplied on its own, unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
