Reeds in 1:48 scale is a scenic accessory from the Vertigo miniatures brand, a set of precisely cut parts for creating waterside vegetation in a diorama. It is not a model kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plant parts for dioramas and vignettes in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an airplane or of a vehicle but an accessory for completing a scene: reeds belong by the edge of a pond, by a waterlogged ditch, by a wetland or by a muddy rut left by tracks. The parts are precisely cut and supplied unpainted, so you decide both the density and the height of the growth to suit your own scene.
The common reed is a tall perennial grass with narrow long leaves and a striking panicle at the top of the stem. It grows in continuous stands on shallow banks and in wetlands, where it forms a natural boundary between water and dry land. For a modeler it is a rewarding element: the vertical lines of the growth contrast well with the horizontal surface of water and tell at once that the setting is a wet one.
Take the parts out of the sheet, clean the burrs up with a new blade and bend the stems lightly, so that the growth does not look like a fence; in nature reeds bend with the wind. Glue with gel cyanoacrylate glue, in small tufts. Paint over a thin acrylic primer, from a darker green at the foot to lighter and yellowish toward the tips; suggest dry stems with beige and brown. Plant the growth into pre-drilled holes, mask the boundary with the surface of the water with mud or pigment and finally pour clear resin, if you are creating water in the diorama.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
