A kit for experienced modelers — the compact machine with its smooth aerodynamic fuselage lets clean work with resin show to advantage, and it is a subject that practically never appears among ordinary plastic kits.
The Camcopter S-100 from the Austrian firm Schiebel is a small unmanned helicopter for reconnaissance and monitoring. It takes off and lands vertically with no infrastructure at all, so it operates from the decks of ships and from unprepared ground. It is used by the navies and security forces of many countries, but it has also found use in civilian roles, for example in border monitoring and search operations.
First wash the resin parts in warm soapy water to remove any mold release agent so that the paint holds well. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw, sand the marks down and protect your airways while sanding. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The smooth fuselage deserves a careful primer coat and fine transitions between shades; the small warning markings pleasantly enliven the scene.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
