Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the French Salmson 2A2 reconnaissance biplane in the variant of the middle production batch (Mid), 1:48 scale, made by GasPatch Models. It differs from the late version in the details of the airframe matching the middle period of production. The model combines fine injection-molded plastic with photo-etched metal and resin parts and usually comes with a jig for setting the wings; check the exact package contents against the instructions. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
The Salmson 2A2 was a French two-seat reconnaissance biplane with a water-cooled Salmson radial engine. Toward the end of the First World War it was one of the most used reconnaissance machines of the French army, and the American expeditionary units flew it as well. It was valued for its reliability and its toughness. Gradual production changes led to the distinction between the early, the middle and the late batches, which differ from one another in particular details.
The kit is finely broken down; we recommend a dry test fit and careful bracing wires on the biplane, with which the enclosed jig for the geometry of the wings will help. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement, and the resin and the photo-etched parts with super glue. We recommend an airbrush and a thin primer; finish the bracing wires only after painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
