A delicate airspeed probe, the Seahawk pitot tube in 1:48 scale, replaces the thicker plastic part on a model of the British Hawker Sea Hawk carrier aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small replacement pitot tube for a model of the British Hawker Sea Hawk carrier jet in a medium scale. It is a single part to complete a build, not a box with an aircraft in it. It comes from the Quickboost brand.
The pitot tube measures the speed of the airflow and on the real machine it projects like a thin rod. In plastic it tends to be thicker than the scale would call for, and during the build it easily snaps or warps. The replacement is more delicate, holds its shape and gives the model back the right relationship between the bulky fuselage and the small projections on its surface.
The Hawker Sea Hawk was a single-seat carrier fighter and attack aircraft of the Fleet Air Arm with a straight wing and a Rolls-Royce Nene turbojet. Its jet pipe was split into a pair of nozzles on the sides of the rear fuselage, which is its most easily recognized feature. It entered service in 1953, saw combat in the Suez operation of 1956 and, besides the Fleet Air Arm, also flew with the Dutch and Indian navies and with West German naval aviation.
The part is unpainted and no glue is enclosed with it.
