The set Soviet Red-White Outlined Kremlin Stars — mid variant, 1:48 from Armycast holds self-adhesive masks for spraying stars of the Kremlin type with a double red and white edging.
Responsibility details are not available.
An Armycast masking set for aircraft models in 1:48 scale, intended for spraying a Soviet star of the Kremlin type with a double red and white outline in the mid variant. It is an accessory for a kit. The insignia comes about by spraying layer by layer, so it becomes part of the paintwork and has no carrier film around it.
The Kremlin type of star is treated as a separate variant of the insignia with different proportions of the points. A double edging, that is, a white band completed by a thin outer red line, is among the most complex patterns of Soviet aircraft marking. Armycast divides the range into an early, a mid and a late version, but the exact dimensions of the individual variants are not stated here.
With a multilayer insignia, what decides the result is patience between the individual steps. Every layer must be genuinely cured before the next mask is applied, not just dry to the touch — a mask sinks into a soft, not yet hardened film and paint will reliably creep under it during the next spraying. Give acrylics several hours, enamels considerably more, and in a cold or damp workshop extend the drying further still. Forcing it with hot air does not pay off with masks: the paint dries faster, but the surface layer closes before the one underneath and the mask can lift it as it is removed.
This is an accessory for a model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
