An Italian roof tile, type B, in 1:72 scale is a scenic accessory for building roofs in a diorama. Tiling of the southern kind for Mediterranean subjects.
Responsibility details are not available.
It comes as roof tiling of the southern, Italian kind as a scenic accessory for a diorama, not as a kit of a building. The designation type B is the distinguishing detail: the manufacturer also makes the type A variant, so you can choose the form that better matches your subject. In 1:72 scale this is a small element with pronounced relief, which gives a roof the characteristic southern rhythm.
Mediterranean roofs look different from central European ones, and it is the tiling that gives that away at first glance. The Italian type of tile therefore belongs to scenes from Italy, Spain, southern France, the Balkans and North Africa, whether you are building a civilian village, a town lane or a farm building. A combination of an intact roof with a partly damaged area, which gives a scene a story, is also rewarding.
Lay the rows out in pencil first and glue from the bottom up, otherwise the pattern will run away from you. With small parts cyanoacrylate glue works well. In color, start from the warm ocher and brick tones typical of southern tiling and lighten the base with a dry brush. Vary the depth of color between the individual tiles, add a darker haze at the gutter and put in sparse patches of moss or dust. In a small scale work with weathering sparingly, otherwise the fine relief is lost.
The accessory is supplied unpainted, as a part for a diorama. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
