Rob Taurus 1:48 Spitfire Mk.16 is a vacuum-formed clear canopy for building the British fighter. It is not a model of an aircraft but a refining accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
A vacuum-formed (vacuform) clear canopy in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Rob Taurus, intended for building the Spitfire in the Mk.XVI version. It replaces the production cockpit canopy with a thinner and optically cleaner part. It is not a model of an aircraft but a detail accessory.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XVI was a late version of the legendary British fighter, closely related to the Mk.IX but powered by a license-built Merlin engine. A number of the machines had a cut-down rear fuselage and an all-round-vision canopy for a better view. The version served in the closing stages of the Second World War and afterwards.
The molding is cut out with a sharp knife along the outline, and the edges are sanded and polished. The thin part makes it possible to show the cockpit open. It is glued with glue for clear parts, which does not fog the plastic; the frames are masked before spraying.
This is a standalone accessory. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
