A resin accessory of the Czech brand CMK in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of an aircraft, but a set of covers, that is of the bulged fairings over the space of the weapons in the wing. The name gives three types, which corresponds to the fact that Spitfires Mk.IX flew with various compositions of the wing armament.
The covers over the cannon and machine gun bays differed from machine to machine in shape and in number, and they are details by which a particular version of the wing is recognized. Kits often offer only one variant, so when building from a period photograph the set widens the options. A resin casting moreover has sharper edges and a cleaner transition into the skin than an injection-molded part.
Wash the parts in warm soapy water, so that the mold release agent disappears. Sand the original covers off the wing if necessary, level the surface and seat the new parts according to the engraving of the skin. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, which should be applied in small doses, as the excess is hard to remove from the surrounding engraving. Fill the seam and sand it over wet, then go over the engraved lines with a scriber. Paint only after fitting, so that the transition into the skin stays invisible. Check which type of cover corresponds to the machine you are building against period documentation.
This is not a kit of an aircraft, but an accessory to a model. The set is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
