The Kits-World 3D color instrument panel for the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX/Mk.XVI 1:48 is a relief color decal that replaces the flat plastic part in the cabin.
Responsibility details are not available.
It is not a kit but an interior accessory. The panel is printed in full color on decal paper and has a raised relief; once applied, the impression is of separate gauges in a frame, not just of a printed surface. The set covers the late supercharged variants of the Spitfire with the Merlin engine, whose cabins are very close to each other in instrumentation.
The Mk.IX came about as a quick answer to the need for a more powerful Spitfire and became one of the most numerous versions of the type. The Mk.XVI was in essence the same aircraft with an engine built under license in the USA. The layout of the instrument panel on both kept to the British standard with the prominent six basic flight instruments in the middle, which is a detail that in 1:48 scale is clearly visible under a slid-back canopy.
Degrease the surface before applying. Even freshly painted plastic carries residues of grease from hands and release agents on it, and it is precisely on those that relief decals do not hold — once dry they lift at the corners. It is enough to wipe it with a cotton swab dampened in alcohol and let it air out thoroughly. The base should be smooth and matte or slightly satin; a rough matte coat creates air pockets under the decal.
It is a modeling accessory. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. We recommend checking the match with your own kit.
