Injection-molded plastic kit of the Grumman TBF-1C Avenger carrier-based torpedo bomber in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The new mold offers finely engraved detail, a well worked-out interior and dorsal gun turret, a roomy bomb bay, folding wings, clear glazing and decals for US Navy squadrons.
The TBF-1C was a three-seat carrier-based torpedo and bombing aircraft of the US Navy from the Second World War, built by Grumman. Compared with the basic TBF-1, the -1C version carried increased armament including wing cannon. The Avenger carried a torpedo or bombs in its bomb bay and had a dorsal gun turret; it made its name in the fighting in the Pacific and was the largest single-engine carrier aircraft of its day.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. Finish the roomy interior and the gun turret and pick them out with a wash before you close up the fuselage. Thanks to the design, the wings can be built folded as they were on the deck of a ship. The bomb bay can be shown open. Mask the glazing and spray the blue-gray naval camouflage with an airbrush over a primer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
