A figure of a US Air Force fighter pilot of the Vietnam War period in 1:48 scale. It will complement an open cockpit, a stand with a model and a smaller diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
A US Air Force fighter pilot was recognizable at first glance during the Vietnam War period: a flight suit, a g-suit on the legs, a survival vest with emergency equipment across the chest and a helmet with a visor. It is exactly this silhouette that makes the figure an accessory beside a model that reads even from a distance.
The figure is intended for models in 1:48 scale, where the figure of an adult man comes out at about three and a half centimeters. At this size a clean surface and precise seating are what count: in an open cockpit the figure rests against the seat, on a stand beside the model it gives the viewer a sense of scale, and in a diorama it carries the action of the whole scene.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the figure and gently sand the remainder, so that the surface stays smooth. Wash and degrease the figure before painting, otherwise the paint will flake off the small areas. Paint from the base coat to the details: first the suit, then the vest, the harness and the helmet, and the face last. Make the shadows with a thin wash into the folds and the highlights with a dry brush along the edges. Choose the shades from period photographs; the equipment changed over the course of the deployment.
The set suits the building of American aircraft of this period and anywhere a model is to look alive. The figure is not made of polystyrene; attach it to the model with cyanoacrylate glue.
The aircraft model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
