Responsibility details are not available.
A resin figure of an American aircraft mechanic from the period of the Second World War in the Pacific theater, in 1:48 scale from the production of Aerobonus (the Aires line). It is not an aircraft model but a supplementary figure intended to be painted and set into an airfield scene or a diorama. The part is cast in resin and belongs to a wider series of mechanics in various poses, thanks to which a whole working ground crew can be assembled on the area.
Ground personnel give a scene scale, action and a human dimension — a mechanic at a wing, an engine or a landing gear leg brings an otherwise static model to life and helps tell the story of everyday work at a frontline airfield. The figure suits American fighters and bombers deployed in the Pacific.
First wash the remains of the mold release agent off the resin parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and clean up the mating surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). It is practical to paint the figure before the final assembly; primer, shaded coats of acrylic or oil paints and bringing out the face and the working overalls with glazing and a dry brush all prove their worth.
The figure is supplied unpainted and cast in resin, intended to be glued together and painted. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
