A pre-cut self-adhesive sheet of masks for the deck areas of the designed H-class battleship, referred to as Hutten, in 1:700 scale. It is not a kit or a veneer deck; it is there so that the deck gets a shade of its own and the boundary against the rest of the model stays sharp. The sheet is cut to the parts of one particular plastic kit, Very Fire VF700906.
A small scale puts the stress on something other than large models do: it is not about the quantity of details but about the cleanness of the areas. The hull is barely thirty centimeters, the boundary between deck and side is a thin line, and any inaccuracy on it shows immediately. A pre-cut mask therefore lifts the result in this scale more than one more photo-etched part would.
Stick the mask on and check around the superstructures, turrets and hatchways that it does not overhang anywhere; where it does, trim it with a fresh sharp blade directly on the model, but guide the cut lightly so that the knife does not run into the plastic. Keep the smaller offcuts of the mask; they come in handy for covering places where you have corrected the paint. Work with plenty of light and a magnifier; in this scale a mistake is only noticed after spraying, when it is too late.
The set is not a model on its own. The paints, glue and plastic kit are not included in the package.
