Kajika 1:700 Kirishima 1915 photo-etched parts is a photo-etched detail set for refining a plastic model of the Japanese ship Kirishima in her 1915 configuration.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set in 1:700 scale from the Kajika brand is not a model of the ship in its own right but a detail accessory intended to refine the build considerably. It replaces the coarser plastic parts with thin, precisely engraved metal elements and adds fine detail that injection-molded plastic cannot capture. The set is aimed at the ship Kirishima in the configuration corresponding to 1915.
Kirishima was one of the fast battleships of the Kongo class of the Imperial Japanese Navy. In her early configuration of 1915 she was marked by a distinctive mast superstructure and by the layout of the main-caliber gun turrets. The ship went through extensive modernizations during her service, so the early version differs considerably from the later reconstructions.
The photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife or with special cutters on a board, bent with a photo-etch bending tool and glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), or with low-melt solder. We recommend degreasing the parts before painting and treating them with a primer for metal. Tweezers and a magnifier will make the work easier.
This is a detail accessory, not the model of the ship itself. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
