The ninth set from the range of supplementary parts for ship models in 1:700 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Pit-Road. It is not a ship kit and it is not a finished model either. Its contents are small components with which the armament and deck equipment of a model bought separately are completed.
A modeler will appreciate it at the moment of wanting to take a finished model beyond the standard a basic kit offers. Separately produced parts have a finer rendering and better proportions, because they are not constrained by having to be molded in one piece with a deck or a superstructure. The set also serves as a store of replacements when a part is damaged or lost during a build. The specific contents of this package are stated on the box.
The most common loss when working with parts of this size is not breaking one but having it fly off and disappear on the floor. Set your workplace up so that a light tray with a rim sits under your hands, use tweezers with fine jaws and cut the parts off slowly, so that they do not spring away from the knife. Store parts you have set aside in a shallow dish or on double-sided tape, not loose on the bench. Work in good light and with a magnifier if you have one; at this size that is not a luxury but a necessity. Dose the glue with a pin, so that it does not run into the surroundings.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package.
