Ten turned metal barrels of 356 mm caliber in 1:700 scale replace the plastic barrels of the main gun battery of the British battleships of the King George V class. It is a detail accessory for modelers, not a kit. It is made by the Polish brand Aber.
The battleships of the King George V class were built at the end of the 1930s under the treaty limits then in force, which set a main battery caliber of 356 mm for the new British units. The arrangement of the ten guns in two quadruple turrets and one twin turret was unusual. The ships of this class were among the hardest-worked large units of the Royal Navy in the Second World War and operated in the Atlantic, the Mediterranean and the Pacific.
The quadruple turrets are the most delicate part of the fitting: four barrels side by side give away any deviation in alignment or elevation at once. Drill the holes one at a time, check them against each other and seat the barrels dry first. Only once the whole group points the same way should you fix them with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the brass with alcohol before spraying and go over it with a primer for metal. Lay the gray shades of the British camouflage schemes on in thin coats so that the muzzle of the barrel does not fill in.
The set is an accessory to a model, not a kit of a ship. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
