Wooden deck in 1:700 scale for a model of the battleship U.S.S. Missouri BB-63, shaped for the Meng PS-004 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Missouri BB-63 was the last American battleship to be commissioned, and her name is linked with the end of the Second World War in the Pacific. The ship has a long forward deck with three gun turrets and a broad stern, so the deck area makes up a large part of what can be seen on the finished model.
The set is a wooden deck part in 1:700 scale cut for the kit from the maker Meng with the manufacturer's part number PS-004. The outlines match that kit and cannot be carried over to a model of another brand, even if it is the same ship. The material is wood, so the surface has its own tone and texture.
It pays to work slowly: lay the part on dry, check how it comes out against the turrets and the superstructure, and fix it down only then. Clean and degrease the plastic base. The glue and the procedure are in the manufacturer's instructions; apply it thinly, because any excess soaks through to the face and stays visible. Press the part down gradually from one edge so that no air is caught anywhere, and cut the overhang off with a sharp blade only at the end.
For anyone building the Meng Missouri in 1:700 scale who wants the deck to be the material itself. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
