USS Missouri BB-63 as she was in 1945 is a plastic kit of the American battleship in 1:700 scale from the maker Vee Hobby.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit captures the American battleship USS Missouri as she was in 1945, that is in her form at the end of the Second World War. The 1:700 scale is the most widespread one for large surface ships and the finished model fits even a smaller display case. It is a conventional plastic kit: the parts are separated from the sprues, glued and painted. A richer version designated Deluxe Edition is also available alongside this box.
USS Missouri belonged to the Iowa class, the last generation of American fast battleships. The main armament consisted of nine 406 mm guns in three three-gun turrets, the secondary armament of 127 mm dual-purpose guns completed by dense anti-aircraft armament. The combination of heavy armor and high speed let the ship escort carrier task forces. Missouri is best known for the fact that the surrender of Japan was signed on her deck on 2 September 1945, which made her one of the most photographed ships in history.
Decide at the very start whether you are building the full hull or the waterline variant, because that will determine the procedure for the deck and the base. Paint the deck separately from the sides of the hull and deal with the boundary using masking tape. The small anti-aircraft armament is more comfortable to paint while still on the sprue and to fit at the end. On a model of this kind it is worth adding photo-etched railings, ladders and radars, which give the silhouette lightness. Even the finish out with a matte varnish, and suggest sea effects and rust sparingly, as in a small scale they quickly look overdone.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
