An injection-molded plastic kit of the American battleship USS Missouri BB-63 in 1:700 scale from Academy. The Multi-Color Parts version makes it possible to build an impressive model even without extensive painting, because the parts are molded in several colors. The model can be built as a full-hull version or in a waterline variant, the main gun turrets rotate, and decals and a spotter aircraft are also in the package.
The USS Missouri, nicknamed the Mighty Mo, was an American battleship of the Iowa class, one of the last battleships ever built. She became famous above all for the fact that the surrender of Japan, which ended the Second World War, was signed on her deck in Tokyo Bay in 1945. The ship was distinguished by the heavy armament of main-caliber guns mounted in three rotating turrets and served, with interruptions, for a long time after the war.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and sand the small joints. Even though the multi-color version reduces the need for painting, the result is lifted markedly by subtle shading of the decks, a wash into the details and blackening of the gun barrels. Decide in advance between the full-hull version and the waterline variant on a stand. Apply the decals to a smooth or varnished surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
