An injection-molded plastic kit of the American heavy cruiser USS Tuscaloosa CA-37 in 1:700 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter. The model allows a build with a full hull as well as in a waterline version and holds a stand. The package also covers small deck equipment and an SOC Seagull scout plane.
USS Tuscaloosa CA-37 was a heavy cruiser of the New Orleans class of the US Navy. The ships of this class carried a main armament of 203 mm caliber in rotating turrets and served as all-purpose heavy cruisers in the course of the Second World War in the Atlantic as well as the Pacific. The cruiser carried catapults for scout seaplanes.
The hull can be built as a whole or as a waterline; pay attention to cleaning up the joints. Glue the plastic with a thin liquid cement and lay the colors on with an airbrush. The model suits a period camouflage finish; the deck detail and the fine fittings are well complemented by accenting the shadows, or by photo-etched railings, which are not included in the package.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
