A set of four AN/M2 aircraft machine guns of 12.7 mm caliber in 1:72 scale from CMK replaces the coarser parts from a kit. It is an accessory, not a model of an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A supplementary set from the Czech brand CMK in 1:72 scale containing four pieces of the American AN/M2 aircraft machine gun in the form for fixed installation in the airframe. It is not a model of an aircraft but a set of small replacement parts with which the simpler parts from a plastic kit are replaced, or the detail in open weapon bays is completed. The number of pieces corresponds to the figure in the name of the product, and further contents of the package are given by the manufacturer on the packaging of the set.
The AN/M2 was the standard American heavy aircraft machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber, that is 0.50 inch. In the version for fixed installation it had a lengthened barrel and was mounted in the wings and noses of aircraft, where a trigger controlled by the pilot served it. Movable versions of the same weapon were used in defensive gun positions. The weapon was marked by high reliability and was widespread on American aircraft throughout the period of the Second World War.
These are very small and fragile parts, so work with them over a tray with a raised edge, so that a piece does not drop away from you. Wash the mold release agent off the castings first, cut the casting blocks off with a fresh blade or a fine-toothed saw and finish the surface on fine abrasive paper. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) laid on with the tip of a wire, not straight from the bottle. A mixture of dark gray with a hint of metal will manage the painting, and create a more pronounced metallic cast only at the end with a light rubbing of graphite or a dry metallic paint on the edges. Leave the barrels rather matte, as a glossy barrel looks unnatural in a small scale.
This is a supplementary set, not a model of an aircraft. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
