A set of replacement wheels in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Armory. It is an accessory for building a model of the four-engine B-17F/G bomber, not an airplane model. The tires are cast as weighted, that is with a surface seated on the ground and with a matching deformation of the sidewall, which looks more faithful on a finished model than a fully circular wheel from the base kit. The type b marking and the GS abbreviation distinguish the version of the tire and of the rim, because the manufacturer offers several wheel variants for the Fortress with a different tread pattern. Check the scope of the set on the box.
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was an American four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War. The F and G versions formed the core of the daylight raids of the Eighth Air Force (USAAF) over Europe; the G version is recognized above all by the chin turret under the nose. The machines were powered by air-cooled Wright R-1820 Cyclone radial engines. The main landing gear retracted into the nacelles of the inner engines and on a fully loaded machine the tires were visibly compressed, so a set of weighted wheels matches an aircraft standing on the ground with a full load.
