1:72 B-25B/C decals and photo-etched parts from the Czech maker Bilek combine a sheet of markings with photo-etched parts for a model of this twin-engine bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech maker Bilek brings two things together: a sheet of wet decals in 1:72 scale and additional photo-etched parts in thin metal. It is not a kit, but an accessory for a plastic model that refines selected details and offers markings. The extent of the etched fret, the particular parts and the number of schemes are stated on the packaging and in the instructions of the set; check the contents against them.
The B-25 is an American twin-engine medium bomber with a high-mounted wing, twin rudders and a nose landing gear. The B and C versions belong to the early part of the production run and differ from the later forms in the arrangement of the glazing, the armament and the turrets. The type was used on most fronts of the Second World War and, thanks to its robust structure, served on afterwards as well. The differences between the individual forms matter a great deal to a modeler, because they affect both the shape of the parts and the placing of the markings.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface, not with nippers. Make the bends on the edge of a metal ruler or in a bender, and glue them with a small amount of cyanoacrylate glue after degreasing, preferably spot by spot. Treat the metal with primer before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly. Apply the decals only over a gloss coat: soak briefly in warm water, move into place with a soft brush, blot the surplus away and use a decal softener on complex areas. Finally even everything out with a matte or semi-gloss varnish.
This is an accessory set. The kit, paints, glue and varnishes are not included in the package.
