The kit captures the twin-engine Beechcraft 1900C turboprop aircraft in the release of the cargo carrier Falcon Express Cargo Airlines. This is injection-molded plastic from short-run production, which is typical of Amodel: the molds have coarser parting lines and thicker sprue gates than those of the large-series Japanese or British brands, but the resulting shape of the subject is faithful, and in this scale it is a theme you will practically not find elsewhere.
The Beechcraft 1900 arose as a nineteen-seat regional aircraft derived from the Super King Air family. It was powered by two Pratt and Whitney Canada turboprop engines of the PT6A series, and its characteristic feature was the additional stabilizing surfaces at the rear and on the underside of the fuselage. The 1900C version was built from the middle of the nineteen-eighties and was delivered with large cargo doors as well, thanks to which the machine spread among feeder and express carriers. It was precisely in this role that the machines also flew in the Middle East, where Falcon Express Cargo Airlines operates as a cargo carrier.
With short-run plastic it pays to proceed slowly. First clean the parts of the remains of the sprue gates and verify by a dry assembly how the fuselage and the wing fit, and only then glue them. Count on filling and sanding down the seams. An airliner stands or falls with a smooth paint: apply a filler primer, polish the surfaces and spray the base white in thin coats. Put a gloss varnish under the decals so that no silvering film arises, and once dry overcoat them with a matte or satin varnish, depending on how well kept a machine you want to have. Mask the cockpit glazing and emphasize the panel lines sparingly, so that the model does not look older than it really was.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
