Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the command version of the German Panther Ausf.G medium tank in 1:72 scale from Dragon. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the particular package contents, the number of sprues and any additional parts are given by the manufacturer in the enclosed instructions. The 1:72 scale means a compact model that takes up little room in a display case and combines well into group installations.
The Panther Ausf.G was the last series-produced variant of this medium tank and differed from the previous forms among other things in a modified shape of the hull sides and in a number of production simplifications. The command conversion, known as a Befehlspanzer, was based on the production vehicle but carried extended radio equipment for directing a unit. That called for additional antennas and the external differences that went with them, and at the same time it took up space inside the hull, so the vehicle carried less ammunition than an ordinary machine. The differences from a standard Panther are therefore above all in the equipment and in small external details, not in the structure of the hull or the power unit.
In 1:72 scale clean work decides — level the gates with a scalpel and a fine file, because every remnant shows on a small model. The antennas that set this version apart are among the most delicate parts: fit them at the very end, after painting and after weathering, otherwise you will break them off during handling. Assemble and paint the running gear before you close the hull sides up. For gluing use a thin cement for plastic applied with a brush into the joints. Before painting, spray the model with a primer; small models take rather finer weathering — thin washes into the recesses and a light dry brush on the edges, and go sparingly on the pigments, so that the model does not look dusty over its whole surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
