A plastic kit of the Japanese army fighter Nakajima Ki-43-I Hayabusa (Allied code name Oscar) in 1:72 scale from the Japanese brand Fujimi. The model is notable for its finely engraved panel lines and offers decals for several marking options.
The Ki-43 Hayabusa (Peregrine Falcon) was the main fighter of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force in the first years of the war in the Pacific. It excelled in exceptional agility and low weight, which gave it the upper hand in a turning fight, at the cost of weaker armor and armament. The Ki-43-I was the first production variant; later machines differed for instance in the engine cowling and in wingspan.
The cockpit and the engine are treated rather basically, so there is room for adding detail. Degrease the parts before painting, apply a primer and spray the shades with an airbrush. The fine engraved lines come out well once they are emphasized with a paneliner. Apply the decals onto a gloss coat and even out the surface at the end according to the degree of sheen you want.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
