The second 1:72 sheet with four Beaufighters in foreign service: Turkey, British Burma, Portuguese naval aviation and an Israeli squadron of 1948.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second sheet of the same series leaves the European coast and follows everywhere the twin-engine strike aircraft got to. Of the four machines offered, only one flew under the British flag; the remaining three served foreign users on three different continents. For the builder that means four markedly different color schemes on one sheet.
The Turkish machine of 1944 carried dark gray-green upper surfaces and a light gray underside. The British aircraft was operating at the end of the same year in Burma in the sand-brown scheme of South East Asia, with the local form of the national insignia. Portuguese naval aviation operated a machine that was interned in the spring of 1945 and a year later served at a base near Lisbon. The last subject belongs to an Israeli squadron as it stood in the middle of 1948.
How the subjects differ
The particular camouflage shades are documented for three of the four machines, so you do not have to look the scheme up elsewhere. It is precisely the variety of users that makes this sheet a rewarding complement to the first part of the series, which stayed with British Coastal Command. The decals will cope with an uneven surface too, provided the film is settled onto a smooth gloss coat and the whole model is covered with a matte varnish once it has dried. The package holds decals exclusively.
