The Quickwheel 1:72 Chevrolet C15A masking set serves to separate the tire from the rim on the wheels of the Canadian military cargo truck quickly and cleanly. The set is cut for the IBG kit.

This is not a kit or a replacement part, but a masking set intended for painting the wheels. The precisely cut discs are applied to the area that is to stay in the original color, the rest of the wheel is sprayed over and the mask is lifted off. The result is a sharp border between the black tire and the color of the rim, which is hard to achieve with a brush.
The Chevrolet C15A belongs to the family of Canadian vehicles of standardized design that served with British and Allied units during the Second World War. It is a lighter cargo truck with all-wheel drive, which has single wheels on both axles, with no dual mounting at the rear. All the wheels are therefore the same and carry the same off-road tread, which means large circular areas with a deep, coarse pattern and a fairly narrow, flat disc in the middle. It is precisely on wheels this large that every imprecision is visible at first glance, because the eye compares the individual wheels with one another. Allow as well for the spare wheel carried on the vehicle, which is seen close up and tends to be skimped when painting by hand.
Degrease the wheels first and let the base color dry thoroughly. Lay the mask on dry, check that it lines up with the casting and only then press it down around the circumference. Apply the paint in thin coats and preferably from the edge toward the center, so it does not bleed under the edge. Lift the mask off while the paint has freshly dried, not once it has fully cured. It pays to paint the wheels before fitting them to the axles, while they can be seen from every side.
The set is an accessory for painting. Paints, glue and the kit itself are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
