CH-46 Bull Frog set 2 in 1:48 scale from Black Dog is the second package in a connected line of accessories for a model of the Sea Knight.
Responsibility details are not available.
Black Dog has released several connected packages for its Sea Knight and this is the second in the line. Anyone who already has the first will add another area to the model with it; anyone just starting out can reach straight for this part according to what they want to show on the machine.
The Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight served for decades as the main assault transport helicopter of the US Marine Corps. The layout with two main rotors at both ends of the fuselage gave it an unmistakable silhouette and earned it a nickname among the crews that refers to a frog. The machine carried troops from the decks of amphibious ships to the shore, supplied units in the field, and in the Navy it also flew in the replenishment role between ships.
It is worth having photographs of the real machine to hand, because the broken-up areas of the Sea Knight are set in by guesswork without a reference and the result then looks uncertain. Dry-fitting the parts reveals where material will need taking away. Do the painting in layers and let each one dry properly, otherwise the surface is easily scratched during handling. Clean up the contact surfaces before you set anything in permanently, because on a tandem fuselage a misalignment carries over into a wide area around it and is then hard to put right. The addition also changes how the whole model reads: it breaks up the long smooth flank and gives the eye somewhere to catch hold.
The Sea Knight itself is not included; the set is added to it.
