Together with oxygen bottles, acetylene bottles made up the pair indispensable for welding and cutting metal in airfield workshops and field facilities.

Wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water and rid them of mold release residue. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw or snap them off and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). For a faithful look use metallic shades, fine rust and accented valves; a difference in color helps set the acetylene bottles apart from the oxygen ones.
