Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the two-seat variant of the Curtiss P-40E fighter with the Klimov VK-105 V12 engine in 1:72 scale from Retro Wings. The basis is injection-molded plastic parts with scribed panel lines and a clear canopy, to which resin parts are added for the conversion to the two-seat version with a different engine. The combination of plastic and resin is intended for more experienced modelers. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Curtiss P-40 was an American fighter of the Second World War supplied to the Soviet Air Force as well. Some of the machines were converted to a two-seat trainer form and some received the domestic Klimov VK-105 V12 engine in place of the original powerplant. The model captures exactly this unusual Soviet two-seat conversion.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release agent residue and cut off the casting blocks, and sand them with breathing protection. Glue the resin with cyanoacrylate glue and the plastic parts with thin modeling cement. Paint the cockpits before closing the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and work with an airbrush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
