A replacement pitot tube and angle of attack sensors for a model of the Dassault Etendard IV in 1:72 scale. They replace the coarser parts from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Dassault Etendard IV was a French carrier aircraft that served with naval aviation and operated from aircraft carriers. It appeared in both strike and reconnaissance configurations and stayed in service for decades. For a model that means a slender nose with prominent sensors, which anyone who knows the type will look at in a small scale.
The set contains a replacement pitot tube, that is the impact pressure sensor projecting from the nose, and angle of attack sensors. For production reasons these parts come out of a kit thicker than they really are, and they are at the same time the first sections to snap off during handling. The replacement parts have a finer shape and are small enough not to look like a spike in 1:72 scale.
Cut the original plastic sensor off at the root and sand the spot. Drill the hole with a micro drill in stages, from a smaller to a larger diameter, so that the tip does not tear off to one side. Glue the new part in with super glue and fit it right at the very end of the build, after painting and varnishing, otherwise you will break it during further work on the model. Cut the excess material off the new part with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully. Degrease the surface before gluing.
The set suits a modeler who wants a sharp nose with no compromises. The package contains only the parts listed; the model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
