1:72 Finnish Anti-Tank Squad in Summer Dress WWII is a plastic figure set from the Strelets-R brand: a Finnish anti-tank squad in summer dress, complete with its armament.
Responsibility details are not available.
This figure set in 1:72 scale shows a Finnish anti-tank squad of the Second World War period in summer dress. Besides the foot figures the package also holds the armament, specifically a 37 mm anti-tank gun of Bofors design and anti-tank rifles, so from one box you can build a complete crewed weapon position rather than just a group of soldiers. The figures are supplied unpainted and in a uniform shade of plastic.
In the first years of the war the anti-tank defense of infantry units rested on light guns of around 37 mm caliber and on anti-tank rifles, that is weapons crewed by several men and moved by hand or by horse team. Among others, the Finnish army used a gun of Swedish Bofors design built under license. The set shows the summer version of the equipment; a separate winter counterpart of the same subject exists as well, which is useful if you want to show the same unit in two seasons.
Rinse the figures first in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry so the primer holds. Remove the mold burrs with a new scalpel by drawing the blade, not with a perpendicular cut. The gun and its carriage are made of several parts; assemble them on a flat surface and check that the shield and the wheels are square. Painting goes fastest from dark to light: primer, a coat of the base shade of the uniform, then a dark wash into the folds and finally a dry brush in a lighter tone on the edges. Do the faces and the hands separately at the end. Keep the figures on their bases glued with super glue, as ordinary cement takes only weakly on the softer plastic of figures.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
