The set 1:72 French Cavalry (Egypt) Napoleonic from the manufacturer Strelets-R brings French cavalry from the Egyptian campaign in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A mounted figure set of soft plastic in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Strelets-R, tied by theme to the French campaign in Egypt. The set is an addition for dioramas and display cases, not a kit of hardware. The figures are supplied in the color of the plastic, unglued and unpainted.
Cavalry on the expedition to Egypt ran into a problem it had not dealt with in Europe: the horses had to be obtained locally and kept in conditions with limited grazing and water. The equipment adapted to the climate, lighter headdresses and items acquired locally were added, so the uniform appearance of a unit gradually loosened. The combat role stayed the same as in Europe, that is, reconnaissance, protection of the flanks and the rapid blow, only in a markedly more demanding environment.
Before buying accessories for a diorama it pays to compare the scale. Figures in 1:72 come out slightly different in height with different manufacturers, and even though the difference is in millimeters, side by side in the same scene it is noticed. Stand one figure next to what you already have, therefore, and judge it by eye, not by the number of the scale. The same holds for the horses, which differ between brands even more. When painting a desert scene, keep a muted palette and let the uniforms be the only richer element. Apply the dust with very thinned light paint from the bottom up, only as high as the rider's knees and the bottom of the horse's legs. Soft plastic is joined only with cyanoacrylate and paint holds on it only after a flexible primer, otherwise it cracks on the bends.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
