The Focke-Wulf Fw 200 came about at the end of the 1930s as a four-engine long-range transport and made its name with a non-stop flight between Berlin and New York. The war gave it a different role: with a bomb load and additional fuel tanks it patrolled over the Atlantic, reported the position of convoys to the submarines and attacked lone ships itself. The British prime minister called it the scourge of the Atlantic. The C-3 version was the most widespread combat form of the type.
From its transport past the aircraft kept a slim fuselage with several rows of glazing, to which the combat conversion added a glazed gondola under the nose. Reduced to one seventy-second the finished machine measures about thirty centimeters, so there is room enough for masks and their accuracy shows. The set holds film for the outer face of the window areas and two insignia, which places it in the middle level of content within its group.
You will make the work easier by masking and spraying the glazed parts before they are glued into the fuselage. Choose the paint order from the interior shade to the exterior one and let the surface rest between coats. Lift the film by pulling along the pane, not at right angles away from it, so that the edge of the paint does not chip.
