Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German King Tiger (Tiger II, Sd.Kfz. 182) heavy tank in the form with the so-called Porsche turret, in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the earlier type of turret with a rounded front and a curved side wall. The tracks are of the flexible (vinyl) type, and a decal sheet is included.
The King Tiger was the heaviest German tank put into series service in the Second World War. It carried the long 88 mm L/71 gun with outstanding penetration and heavy frontal armor. The first vehicles built received the turret with the rounded front, commonly called the Porsche turret; only a smaller number of these were made before it was replaced by the Henschel turret with a flatter front. The tank was a feared opponent, but it was heavy and demanding on its powerplant and its maintenance.
Assemble the running gear with its interleaved wheels before closing up the hull. Masking and an airbrush suit the late-war three-color camouflage; use a primer and thin cement. The weathering will come from dark washes into the seams and pigments for dust and mud on the underside and the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
