The Lewis is a British light machine gun of rifle caliber that became famous in the First World War and stayed in service long afterward. On aircraft it became the favorite flexible weapon of the observer: it was light, the gunner could hold it in his hands or on a pivot mount, and in the aircraft version it did without the heavy cooling jacket, because the airflow did the cooling. The rounds were fed from a flat drum fitted on top, which is instantly recognizable on a model. The Mk III designation distinguishes the version of the weapon.

Two pieces make sense: two-seat machines often carried a coupled pair at the observer position, and a modeler will also appreciate having a spare, because this is a small and easily lost part. The details of fitting and the full contents of the package are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut away excess material and production marks with a sharp blade a little way from the part and carefully sand off the rest, supporting the barrel and the drum so that they do not break off. Wash and degrease the part before painting. Choose the adhesive according to the material: cement for plastic models on polystyrene, and super glue on resin and printed parts. Paint the weapon and fit it at the very end, after the cockpit is finished, otherwise you will knock it off during further work. Keep the dark metallic shade on the darker side, as bright new metal looks unconvincing on a weapon of this period.
The package contains two guns and is intended as an accessory for a kit. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
